LAFAYETTE SOCIETY
The Lafayette Society is the Institute’s premier student initiative which creates an environment for debates on global issues linked to liberal democracy and their application to policy in the 21st century. The Society is reigniting an old Institute tradition this spring semester: a public student-led debate hosted by the Graduate Institute from the Ivan Pictet Auditorium to International Geneva and eventually the world.

CHINA AND EAST ASIA STUDIES INITIATIVE
China and East Asia Studies (CEAS) Initiative is a recently founded (October 2020) students’ initiative that provides an open academic platform for research and debate on contemporary issues about China, East Asia and the world. Engaging people from all backgrounds interested in this discipline, CEAS strives to mobilize academic and social resources to facilitate academic activities concerning China and East Asia from an inclusive perspective.

GLOBAL HEALTH INITIATIVE
The Global Health Initiative provides a platform and a community for the IHEID students and alumni from various professional and educational backgrounds with an interest and passion for global health topics, where different stakeholders come together and collaborate on innovative projects related to health.

WOMEN IN ECON LÉMAN INITIATIVE
Women in Econ Léman is a joint initiative by PhD students in economics from the Graduate Institute, the University of Geneva, the University of Lausanne and EPFL. Women in Econ Léman aims to kick-off a broad conversation about how systemic gender biases affect women as a community of economic researchers.

MACRO-DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH INITIATIVE
The Macro-Development Research Initiative aims to research, analyze, debate, and disseminate information related to development with an interdisciplinary perspective. MDRI wants to help develop the professional and leadership skills and the human potential of future young leaders through the research and analysis of the social issues that are at hand today
